Extraterrestrial. That word bounced around Kelli's head as she came home from school that afternoon. She'd just spent an hour at cheerleading and her elbow length blonde hair was falling out of its ponytail. She ran to her laptop and typed it in, scrolling through the results. Alien, UFO sightings, out of this world, etc. One website caught her eye, though. A quiet website with some blurry photographs. It had some information on the word's origin. She quickly referenced it and typed up the paper about the word.

You see, she was only bothering with it because she needed the extra credit to get the A+ she deserved. Kelli sighed and snapped her laptop shut, oblivious to the fact that her life would become forever intertwined with the extrraterrestrial.

Plot: Kelli Lowich (me) is the head cheerleader at Franklin Delano Roosevelt High School. Soon she meets ________ who is an alien, called a "Terra" by his race. She soon falls in love with him, but things get complicated when she's forced to accept the truth.

Character name: Declan Smith (Imaginative surname...XD)
Nickname: Dec, Declan.
Gender: Male
Age (looks): 18
Species: Known as a "Terra"
Job: Works in an old bookshop at the end of a street. Noone ever enters, but it gives him a good chance to earn some money and find out about humans in the books that surround him.
Personality: He doesn't yet know if he has one, yet. He speaks with a monotonous tone, a blank expression and with astiff stance. The only thing that ever shows his personality is his eyes, and that is only if he tries his hardest.However, he is gaining knowledge quickly, and when he does speak he does so with an intelligent spark, and never uses slang. He is still not very good at socialising, but he is hoping that will change when he gets his name written down for the local high school.
Looks: Declan has a very broad figure, althoguh he has not done much working out. He was born with a firm, muscular torso, and therefore has not known anything different. He has sleek, light blonde hair usually gelled up at the front, and strikingly blue eyes, almost inhumanly blue. They glow slightly in a dim light, but not so bright that many people notice. Another thing to nitice is that his pupils don't change. In humans, when they look directly into a light, or darkness, the pupils shrink or grow. His don't. His skin is pale and fair, but not enough for him to look ill. He wears a plain white t-shirt and a dark, denim jacket - which he stole from a drunken figure on the street whilst he was sleeping. He also wears a pair of saggy, ripped blue jeans - these, he found in a clothes recycling bin in a carpark. He also doesn't really know too many 'Earth' rules, so for now has it in his head that he can do anything he wants. He will discover one day this is untrue.

Registration for senior year. Kelli bounded up the stairs to the school happily, glancing aorund to find her friends, which she had plenty of. She did notice, though, a strange man she'd never seen before writing down his name. She squeezed through the crowds, needing to investigate immedatly. She squirmed around and saw Dec but someone shoved her away. "Kelli!" Samantha, a tall girl with long brown hair called.
"Hi!" Kelli shrieked back, but was still preoccupied with the cute new blonde.
Samantha walked over. "Woah." Was all she could manage.
"Dibs!" Kelli giggled and they shoved each other to get to "Dec" first. "Hi!" I'm Kelli. You're new here, right?" She squealed in the most adorable voice she could manage.

Declan spun round in allarm at the squeaky, high-pitched voice and stared at the intruder with wide eyes. His jaw dropped. What was he suppsoed to say to that? "I... er..." He cleared his throat, looking away. He hadn't expected to have people socialising with him as soon as this. What had the Commander said to him, about Humans greeting each other? What was the word? Remember... dammit! Something to do will Hello... Or Low...
He had it!
"Hello. Yes, th-... that is true. I have, in fact, just signed in. Er..." His inhumanly bright blue eyes dropped to the form on the table. "At least, that is what I think..." His brow furrowed slightly as he thought back to why he had written his name in the first place. Oh yes! It was because he had been told to attend school... But what is school? His mind drifted back to the dictionary he had found in the book shop.
School:
1) A body of students, or students and teachers, belonging to an educational institution.
2) A particular faculty or department of a university having the right to recommend candidates for degrees, and usually beginning its program of instruction after the student has completed general education.
Oh yes, he remembered! He was there to learn about the new world, and gain an education ofthis planet: Earth. Also, he had been given the oppertunity to socialise a little with the other students. If only there was a book for that as well...

Kelli arched her eyebrow at his language but smiled brightly. "Well, I can show you around if you like. We don't get many people as handsome as you." She laughed and grinned, pulling his arm over to another table, where Kelli asked the young brunnette, "This man needs the uniform." Turning to "Dec" she asked, "You do have money, right?" In a low, confidential whisper.

Declan was practically dragged towards the next table, a brief look of alarm flickering in his eyes. Where was she taking him? His mind raced at the word 'uniform', and for a moment he stared at the girl in honest confusion. Then he realised, and stuffed a hand into his large pocket, rumaging for a brief moment before pulling out several - fifty, to be exact - sheets of small, green paper. It was his budget, given to him by the commander. He had absolutely no idea how much this 'uniform' was going to be. "Is this what you mean?" He asked innocently, showing her the thick handful of crumpled notes.

Kelli gaped at him. "How much do you have?" She asked slowly, pulling out a crumpled note gently. $100. "Oh wow..." She said in surprise. But without faltering, she turned to the uniform sales person, handing her the bill who just glanced at it. It was usual enough, the rich mommies and daddies giving their kids too much money to get school stuff.
"What size?" She asked boredly.
Kelli glanced over Declan, who obviously wouldn't kow what she meant. "Adult large." She said briskly.

Declan stared at the note the girl had given to the female selling uniform and stuffed the rest of the green, paper notes into his large jean pocket. Okay, so the girl evidently knew more about him than he did... But of course, that was fine with him. At least someone knew how things went around this place. Deciding it was expected for him to show at least a tiny speck or gratitude, his lips twitched a grateful smile before falling back to their original, stiff line. Perhaps it was time he introduced himself...
"I am Declan." He said flatly, with perhaps a little too much volume. He leant in towards the new girl briefly, studying her for a moment before straightening his back. "What is your name?"

"Hi, Declan. Woah." Kelli said when he leaned in just a wee bit close. "I'm - I'm Kelli." She stammered. "Kelli Lowich."
"Next!" The uniform lady shrieked and Kelli pulled Declan out of the way of the next customer.
"Where are you from?" She asked casually, walking arm and arm with him through the crowds and getting angry glares from all of the girls and longing glances from the boys.

His body froze in a brief moment of panic as her words thundered through his eardrums, How was he suppsoed to answer that?T His jaw dropped open as he carefully avoided her gaze, the crowd's glares seeming to burn through his skull. They know... he thought to himself, horrified. My cover's blown. They all know... His head snapped round as a passing female gave the girl beside him an angry glare, and for a brief moment he had no idea why. A bead of sweat trickled down the back of his neck. Then he remembered. He'd been warned that some of the humans may end up becoming rather attracted to him... Realising he'd not answered her question, he quickly searched his brain for an answer. How could he be truthful without giving himself away? "Err... I am not from around here, I'm from out of town, in fact."

"Out of the country I assume, too." Kelli said, waving a hand. "Well may I say you speak English pretty well for a foreigner." She giggled. "Did you already sign in at the medical table?" She asked, glancing around, trying to see where to go next. After all, she had shown up only to purchase and new cheerleading uniform...

Dec's eyebrows twitched upwards in surprise at her compliment - or at least, that's what he hoped it was - and he thanked her with a faint, grateful nod of the head. Then he realised she'd asked about some form of 'medical table' and frowned. A what? "No... No need." He shook his head, waving it off with a flick of his hand. Medical... The one subject he was warned to never go near, as medical almost always had some form of medicine involved, amnd when medicines were involved, so were needles. the more needles some female human in a coat stabbed into his pale skin the closer he was to being found out.
No, he wouldn't do it. Even if she tried to firce him...
Desperate to change the subject, he grabbed her hand and dragged her across the hallway to a pretty pink and white poster,decorated with plump, red hearts. At the top of the page, in big, bold lettering, stood the words ' Sans Ms[color=red]Valentines Dance [/font]' then in smaller lettering sat: 'This friday in the Upper hall - 6pm until 10pm'. Without thinking twice, he turned back to her, staring at her in slight curiosity. "Would you like me to accompany you to the dance tomorrow night?I've always wanted to go to a hu-..." he cleared his throat, going red. He'd nearly said 'Human Dance'... "To a dance - a proper dance - before. It would be a first." he said, his eyes wide and innocent.
