Jack tilted his head back to look up into the recesses of the hangar as the massive, flat ring flickered to life. It was a technological achievement, a huge step for mankind in the way of TIME TRAVEL -

"- And it can only take me back thirty seconds?" He said, kind of put-out. The Proctor sniffed irately. "Time is not something to be fooled with at will, Mr. Harker; for a portal such as this, it has to gain an 'intelligence' to know where it is sending you, and get used to sending you. The more you use it, and properly navigate it, the further back in time you shall go.

"Now pay attention. This will transport you to a specific location for, in your time perspective, will be for thirty minutes. Keep your wrist-timer on the set number, and don't touch it. When you hear it beep, it means you have only 300 seconds, or five minutes, remaining to prepare for the next time jump back. Understand?"

"Uh-huh."

"Good." The Proctor knew it was like talking to a wall. "You and your crew will be transported to the Necric Base 5 as a test run. You will deposit your things, have a look around, then be back in the designated spot before the timer goes off. Otherwise you WILL be left behind. Got it?"

Jack adjusted his coveralls and harness. "Yep."

The Proctor clenched his teeth and started up the machine. The ring began to spin to life. "Preparing for first jump, NC-Station 5. All crew and personnel, be ready."

Plot:

You're far enough in the future to finally test out time/space travel! The above text should tell you enough, but if you're confused, this is going off of the theory that DISTANCE affects TIME. Feel free to ask any questions you got. Depending on where you're sent, is how long you will or can be gone.

However, there is a phenomenon: a wormhole has appeared in time and space, and is bringing something through from a separate dimension. Whatever it is becomes clearer by the day, and the Crew are being sent out to fix the anomaly, for better or for worse.

*You must time-jump with a partner and keep your wristband on at all times.
*In Zero Space/Z-space there is no time. So though it may feel like you wandered around in it for a year or four minutes to arrive at your destination, NO TIME has passed. (Also called the 'No-zone'.
*the beings appearing are unknown, transparent, and inhuman, but they are visible for mere seconds, making headlines across the news, before disappearing, allegedly back to their own time and dimension. They get clearer and more common by the month.

[Get your gear, turn on your Timer, and stand at the portal entrance until the Proctor says to go. ]


Jack made sure the basic essentials were in the harness: the 'anchors', hydration supplements, special tools, and etc. before the Jump. The Gate warped and buzzed at the top of the steel scaffold, a voluminous blue aura pulsing gently within, giving the illusion that time and space was docile, tamed.

Oh, the horror stories he'd heard since this project began. He knew better.

"Ah, ladies! Kasreen, Sylvena." He smiled brightly, pre-adventure adrennaline surging in his veins. "You ready for this?"

Kasreen zipped up the front of her blue jump-suit and proceeded to walk towards Jack. "Yes sir I am." She gave him a brief smile before taking a look at the buzzing portal. She wasn't sure what to expect really, she had only really done a few brief jumps before, and even those weren't anything serious, just some mechanics that needed patching up.

"I was born ready, sir." Sylvena said with a grin as she pulled the zipper up on her jumpsuit. She glanced at the other alien and quizzically raised an eyebrow once again. That one had always puzzled her. She'd never seen or heard of that race before...

Kasreen noticed the glance from the other crew mate, and turned her head to look at her. The pair hadn't really spoken since the beginning of the voyage, so they didn't really know eachother well.

Sylvena nodded at the other alien subtly. She didn't know why, maybe it was just to show respect. "When are we leaving?" She asked loudly, to no one in particular.

[Rorah]

Kasreen acknowledged her nod, and returned the gesture, giving her a slight smile. "In a few moments I think." She answered the girl's question, speaking aloud, her thick Russian accent ringing through the metallic chamber.

"Well, I consider myself a lucky guy," he said airily, glancing at the pair of them in mock-interest. "And given our timers are set, I'd expect we'd be leaving n - "

VWORP-VWORP-VWORP-SHOOMPH.

"-oooowwww!"

The vortex appeared, a sucking, massive, storm-ridden channel of pulsing energies and insubstantial matter.

Sylvena let out a loud 'woop' as she dove in headfirst. As she flew through the not solid tube of energy, she felt as though she was flying - which, in a sense, she was. "Reminds me of home." She murmured to herself, thinking of her home planet with a grin. As she tumbled out, she collided with Jack and landed in an awkward position.
"Sorry, Captain." She said politely, not sounding sorry at all.

Kasreen took a deep breath, before stepping through, nearly going into the pile on the floor. "Oops!" She nearly tripped on the pair, but regained her balance, before offering a hand down to them both, going to help them get up.
