The final stretch...The last furlong...a length's distance between you and your competitor. Your hooves pound relentlessly on the soft ground, all your muscles are aching and sore as you stretch your neck, eager to be the first past that line...You pass the line in first. Time to shine. You pretend to walk forwards happily, but really all you want to do is lay down. Rest all this achyness off. Little do you know, that was only small..The big race is up in 4 weeks. Are you up for it?

Colour: A dark bay color, deep chocolate eyes, with three black hooves, and one white hoof. A rather unusual white marking runs down like a huge blaze, but nearly covers most of the right side of his face.
Height: 16.2hh
Racing colours: Bright neon green and black. Stripes.
Breeding: Twenty Heavens (ENG) X Sambuca (ENG)
Other: Won 23 out of his 28 races so far. Is a favorite in the bookies, but to other racehorses a formidable opponent.

The mare snorted softly, pacing her field quickly. Bored.

[Rorah]

[[ S'okay X) ]]

Strider lingered in his box, irritated at the fact that he had been inside for so long. Shuddering his pelt, he stuck his head out of the open stable door and surveyed the stable yard. Next to him was Dawn Chorus, a mare. He nickered to her, longing for someone to talk to. No answer. Strider snorted defiantly and looked around. He could see the lush green field stretching out a little way off, but no one to lead him there. He kicked the door and whinnied loudly.

[Finneh]

The mare let out a piercing whinny, her groom jogging down to fetch her in quite quickly. She trotted beside him, eager to be groomed and raced.

[Rorah]

After what seemed like years, a Stable hand finally came to attach a halter to Strider's head. She unbolted the door, only pausing to give him an affectionate pat on the neck. Strider breathed in the fresh air, and relished the feeling of grass under his hooves as he was let out into the field. He was allowed a few minutes to himself, before his Jokey came jogging up to the gate. Stride cantered over, receiving a few polos and compliments.

[Finneh]

Copper snorted in disgust at the stallion, before being groomed and tacked up. Led to the sand track, her Jockey mounting as she walked.

[Rorah]

Stride's ears flicked back, only now noticing that there was a mare in the field. He replied with a return snort, his jockey leading him off to the tack room. He mounted swiftly, before making him follow the mare off to the sand track. Strider didn't really want to have to follow her, but the Jockey seemed intent on practicing at the sand track.

[Finneh]

Copper snorted, walking into the starting stalls. Half-rearing once inside, eager to run.

[Rorah]

My Jockey lead me into the stall next to hers, and started chatting away to the jockey next to him, apparently they were friends, although that wouldn't stop me from giving it my all. Friendship was left behind on the track. The red light was shown, then the green. The gates flew open, my jockey gave me an encouraging nudge, and I sped off at full pelt out of the gates.

[Finneh]

I soon followed, my strides increasing speed slightly. I moved to be near the rail, ignoring the other stud. I raced myself.

[Rorah]

I followed suit, sticking to the rail as the track bore sharply to the left. Along the straight, I moved out so I was level pegging with her. I had to admit, for her size, she was fast. I increased my speed and pace, taking longer strides at a faster pace. My jockey was leaning forwards into my neck, urging me to go faster.

[Finneh]

I snorted softly, pushing myself onwards. Pushing myself to the limit.

[Rorah]

The next corner was approaching, I managed to push myself in front of her for the corner, taking the racing line through the bend, but fell back beside her, unable to keep the pace by staying in front of her. I could see the finishing line, I stretched out my neck eagerly, it was coming closer, closer, untill....

[Finneh]

I pushed myself that little bit further, my hooves pounding relentless. Not phased. Racing my shadow. I nearly tripped as I went past the finish line.

[Rorah]

We crossed the finishing line at an incredible speed. As soon as I had slowed to a halt, and my jockey had given me a pat on the neck, we trotted over to the time keeper. 'Time?' He asked. 'Who won?' The time keeper raised his eye brows.
'It was a draw. Exactly the same time.' I was taken aback. A short mare, doing the same time as me? She must be good...I looked back at her over my shoulder.

[Finneh]

I snorted softly, steadying myself. Sweat lacing my small frame, but I seemed eager for more. I lifted my head, my ears forwards.

[Rorah]

'Hey, you're good!' I called back over to her, ears facing forwards.

[Finneh]

"Thanks. You're not bad yourself" I nodded breathlessly, before being walked away.

[Rorah]

I allowed myself a small smile, before being led off to the center of the ring, where there were a variety of different things. Jumps, training ropes, poles and other manner of obstacles littered the sandy ring. My jockey dismounted and gave my reins to the groom, who lead me off.

[Finneh]

I snorted, being dismounted and handed over to my groom. I was then untacked and rinsed off

[Rorah]

I was untacked and hosed down, before being lead into the field again. I enjoyed the racing, but being in the field was better than any ring or track any day. I cantered to a far side and began grazing,

[Finneh]

I still managed to have the energy to bounce down to my field, but then attempted to roll and refused to get up again.

[Rorah]

I turned to see the mare rolling in the field. I allowed myself a small smile, before swishing my tail and continuing to graze.
