getting in the truck a quick smile hit my face and i drove home

I heard Jake's truck and I stroked Belle's nose one more time before walking out of the stable and walking towards his truck.

"What's wrong?" I asked as I saw him and froze as I faced him.

"I found out why i couldnt buy her." I muttered

"Why?" I asked facing him with a raised eyebrow.

"Well your dad sure does know how to hold a grudge. My dad beat him in a show...and now he just wont let it go" I said

"Maybe not, but I'm going to fix the problem though." I said looking at him.

"Hows that?" I asked cautiously

"I'll enter some shows, maybe even some races with Belle, earn enough money and pay dad for the bills and then tell him to forget about the grudge." I said shrugging my shoulders as I looked at him, then walked into the stables again and stroked Belle's nose as I stared off into space.

"I will ask my dad tomorrow if he'll take the money and if he doesnt, I'll hit him." I said smiling a little as I glanced at him.

"He's too proud and wont take money from other people, but he will if he wants me to stay at his house." I said leaning against the wall of the stables and crossing my arms.

I glanced at him for a moment, then thought about it. "Maybe you can give me the money and I could just say I entered a race." I said shrugging my shoulders a little.

"Maybe then he will stop holding a grudge against you." I said smiling as I looked at him.

"Let's hope it works." I said smiling a little as I glanced at him, then turned and started to walk towards his house to get ready for school as I glanced up at the rising sun and sighed, not wanting to go to school today, though I knew I had to.
