Rick jumped off the bus that dropped him off at summer camp. He hated that his parents sent himthere every year while they vacationed in another country. Sighing, he grabbed his duffel bag and went in, looking for his cabin.

Jordyn stepped out of her dads car. "I hate you for this" She said to him.

He drove off leaving her alone. "Great" She huffed. Lets get this over with. She walked off to find whereever it was that she would be staying.

Rick dropped all his stuff in his cabin, boys were separated from girls. Then they were called by the camp councilor to the fireplace. He was the first one there, everyone else was still running around. He sat on a log and waited for people to come.

Putting her stuff by the bed farthest away from the door, she walked out of her cabin. All the other kids were running in the direction of the cafeteria. She started walking, slowely. When she got there, there was really nowwhere to sit. So she sat down on a rock, far from the other girls.

Rick wandered around and saw Jordyn sitting on a rock a bit ways off. He squinted at her, he'd never seen her at camp before. "Hey," he said, waving a bit "You new here?"

"Unfortunatly I am" Jordyn look at the guy and smiled. " I take it you've been here before?"

"Oh yeah," Rick said, and he rolled his eyes. "My parents send me here every summer." He kicked a stone on the ground, then said "So what're you doing here this summer? Parents too?"

"Yes. I kinda got into trouble back home, and they jumped at the oppertunity to send me away. So, here I am." She watched as everyone gathered into their own individual groups. Wont be doing that this year.

"They usually just need some excuse to send us away," Rick muttered. He looked around, then back to Jordyn. "Well, since you're new, want me to show you around?" he asked, smiling. The girl was really cute too, he'd like to get to know her.

"Isnt that the truth" she replied. "um, sure why not?" She got up and followed him. A slight breeze blew and she could smell his cologne. Wow he smelled really good.

"Cool," Rick said and smiled at her. He held out a hand "I'm Rick, by the way."

She smiled and tooke his hand "Jordyn" She said. "So, where to first?"

Rick smiled, her hand was really soft, he squeezed it a little as he took it. "Hmm where do you want to go? There are some grassy fields, a big lake where we do our canoeing, the shady forest...haha we're not allowed in the forest," he laughed.

She looked at him. " You Shouldnt have said that" she said with a smile. "Why Not? Whats the worst that could happen?"

Rick shrugged. "I dunno, the councilors told us never to go in. I've never gone in myself," he admitted.

Jordyn looked to where the counclers were, and they looked pretty preoccupied. Then she looked back at Rick. "Do you want to? Go in there?"

Rick looked around as well, then a mischievous smile crossed his face. "Only if you want to," he grinned. then he joked "I can protect you from whatever's in there"

"lets go" Jordyn Started sprinting around the large rocks. She was pretty good at dodging them too. Utill her foot caught on a tree root, and she fell. She heard, and felt a snap. As she hit the ground, heat floodd through her ankle, and it started throbbing. She raised up and grabed her ankle. Tears sprank to her eyes. She would not cry.

Rick followed Jordyn, although he was more careful sprinting around the rocks. He gasped as she fell and sprained her ankle. "Oh my gosh, are you alright?" he asked, kneeling beside her, he put a hand on her ankle to feel, it felt pretty sore.

Jordyn was gasping for breath by now, and she jumped when Rick touched her. " I dont think I can walk. She looked at her other leg. There was blood. Great. She tried to get up, but it was a meel effort. Off in the distange, she heard the counclers calling everone for dinner. "she looked up a Rick, "great first impression huh?"

Rick caught Jordyn with both arms before she could fall. "First impressions don't matter, it's the inside tht counts," he said, "Okay that sounded really cheesy" he laughed. He suddenly scooped her up into her arms. "Come on I'll take you to the nurse first, that is if you're not so hungry you want to go to dinner first" he laughed.

When he said that, her insides melted a little. "Cheesy or not, it was a good thing to say. Im not to hungary, so, Nurse first. But, you could just drop me off at the door so you dont get in trouble for being out here"

"It's no problem, I'm sure they'll understand," Rick said. He winked at Jordyn. "Besides I'm supposed to be your protector remember" he laughed. He brought her into the nurse's cabin and laid her on a bed as he called the nurse.
