Nodding, Joey darted forward, following Kronos. As she swept into the undergrowth, her legs gave way. She was panting like a dog. "That was one of them! They saw us!" she gasped inbetween breaths.

Kronos hung back next to her. "One of what?" He panted, his mind not entirely focused after the energy-draining sprint.

"Human capturer's!" she gasped for air. Her legs felt like jell-o.

I looked back over her shoulder. "It's okay....They're gone." He lay next to her, his heart still pounding. It had been a while since he had run that quick.

"Do they," Joey whispered, "scare you?" She put her muzzle against Kronos flank. She had a safe feeling around him.

Kronos smiled. "A little...But at times they can be terrifying. Do they scare you?"

"Yes." Joey mumbled, her voice drowned out by the fur. She raised her head. "I'm not the strongest or fastest. I'm an easy target."

Kronos frowned, deep in thought. "How about you stick with me? I can protect you from any hunters out there."

"That would be nice, thank you." She looked moony-eyed up at Kronos and shook herself, clearing her mind.

He chuckled at her wide-eyed ness and yawned wide. "We should move on, we need to find a place sheltered."

Joey nodded, standing up. Her legs were still wobbly but she steadied herself by leaning on a rock. "And food and shelter." Joey murmered, her stomach giving a light rumble. Wind ruffled the leaves and clouds made the sky dark. Thunder erupted from the sky and Joey shrunk down.
"We need to move fast!" she hissed. Moving out from behind the rock she put one paw in front of the other, faster and faster and faster untill the world was a blur around her. Drops of cool water splashed down on her pelt, soaking her to the skin. Light flashed, almost blinding her. Lighting.
