Carter laughed softly as he watched them before looking back over to Meraunda quietly with an easy grin "Why Thank you" he said simply. He took a sip of his drink quietly before glancing around the hall once more, suprisingly everyone here seemed pretty normal.

"You're very welcome." She laughed, then paused. "Our food should be out in about ten minutes." She told him, looking back at him. Meraunda sighed, studying him with worried eyes.

Carter looked at her for a moment meeting her gaze "What?" he asked, she was starting to worry him a little bit.

"Um, it's probably nothing...and I really shouldn't even be telling you yet...but, when we were in the woods...I had a vision. I think..." meraunda took a shaky breath, "I think it might be about you." She looked up at him, waiting for a angry reaction.

Carter looked at her curiously for a moment "Huh" he said simply "What'd you see?" he asked curiously. If anyone had to have a vision about him at least it was someone who he thought was pretty cool.

"Um, I guess I should call it a hearing because I didn't actually see anything, just heard it." She shrugged sheepishly. They brought their food out, and Meraunda happily dug into her potatoes.

Carter thought about it quietly and sighed before starting to pick away at his dinner. He thought about what Meraunda had said and tried to figure out what it could be about.

About 20 minutes later, Meraunda finished and leaned back. She sighed contentedly, then looked over at him. "You okay?" She asked, genuinely worried.

Carter glanced over to her "Well I'm kind of freaked out because you havn't exactly told me what you heard and you keep looking at me with a rather worried look, should I be okay?" he asked. He didn't know what her visions normally led to, if they were good or bad he had no idea.

"Its no big deal, jst something about water and land and the fate of the world. It all works out." She patted his hand with an encouraging smile. "Theres no need to worry. I have to talk to the council about it first anyways. I don't know anything for sure."

Carters jaw dropped slightly, no big deal, just the fate of the world... no pressure there. He swallowed slightly and shook his head "Okay, fate of the world sounds like a pretty big deal" he said simply.

Meraunda shrugged. "Dont worry about it." Someone came and cleared their plates away. "Do you want to come talk with the Council with me?" She asked him, standing.

Carter looked at her and nodded softly "Yes please" he said simply before standing up. He looked down to his plates for a moment before finishing up his water. Hearing a few snickers behind him he quietly offered Meraunda his hand.

Meraunda looked surprised, but took his hand in hers. A little smile flitted across her lips. "Come on." She walked out of the dining hall, staying in stride with him.

Carter smiled and walked after her quietly, he didn't know anyone really around here concil or not so he was a little nervous but Meraunda knew her way around and that had to be good.

She led him past the cabins to the large, lodge-like building on the hill at end of the lane. Before they reached the hill she stopped and turned to him. "Just one question, why are you so nice to me? And why are doing this?" She held her their hands. "I figured it was just because of those girls but...why?"

Carter looked down to her a little suprised before down to their hands. He shrugged softly and looked at her for a moment "I'm being nice to you because I think your actually pretty cool, you've been helping me out, showing me around, keeping me out of trouble although you almost did make me do a face plant" he said with a shrugg "I like you" he said simply. She was just one of those people he got along with, and trust me, they didn't come along often.

Meraunda stood there for a moment, trying to think of a response. Coming up with nothing, she smiled at him. "Thanks." She said quietly before turning and heading up the hill. It was fairly steep, so she released his hand and began trudging up the stairs that led straight to the front door. "I would tell you if they're busy, but they have blocking curses on the building so no ones powers work inside it, or can get to it."

Carter nodded softly "Your welcome" he said simply before following her up the hill. By the time they reached the top he was actually a little tired. He shook his head softly before listening to what she had to say about the building. He nodded softly getting the general jist of the idea "Alright, lets do this" he said simply.

Meraunda nodded and knocked on the door. A middle aged woman answered. She was pretty, with naturally curly brown hair and tanned skin. She smiled at them. "Meraunda, come in, come in. Is this Carter? Great! Welcome to the camp. I hope you've found everything to your liking." She clicked the door shut behind them. "Im Lydia." She introduced herself to him.
Meraunda looked around. It really was the lodge style, with a staircase and animal heads and pelts everywhere. It sort of sickened her. "Hello, Lydia. We would like to speak with the Council." Lydia nodded. "Follow me, then." She led them up the stairs and to a room at the end of the corridor. She pushed it open, and waved them in. She quickly shut it behind them, leaving them in a room with a single round table, and a fire place burning. There were five people seated around the table, all with graying hair. Meraunda nodded to each of them in turn.

[argh I have to go to bed. School tomorrow ;( niigghhtt)

Carter looked at the woman quietly and gave her a small smile "Nice to meet you and Meraunda's been taking care of me" he added quickly before following them in. He looked around quietly and swallowed slightly before glancing over to Mer. He sighed softly and followed them up to the council room. He stood a little ways back from Meraunda quietly not really sure of the whole formal stuff and what not they needed to do. He'd let Meraunda take care of that and he'd just stand there if they needed him.

A woman sat at the head of the table. Her withered face was expressionless, and her long white hair was braided down the back. "Meraunda. How nice to see you. What is it that you want?" She asked with a smile. Meraunda shuffled her feet nervously. "Um, I had a vision..." She explained what had happened, conciously aware of Carter there. She repeated the words she had heard. The woman nodded. "Mmm....a prophecy." She said, tapping her fingers.

Carter listened carefully as she recited the words, this was the first time he had heard them. He glanced over to Meraunda quietly before back to the woman at the head of the table. He looked around the council quietly for a moment before back down to his feet, feeling a little out of place.

"I think it involves Carter." Meraunda explained to them. Everyone around the table looked at eachother, then at the lady at the head. She looked over to Carter, studying him. "I see. You are correct, it does. Do you know who the other one is?" Meraunda shook her head. The lady continued, laughing a bit, "It's you my dear. I'm surprised you didn't realize it."

Carter let out a soft breath as they looked over to him before he looked over to Meraunda slightly suprised. He swallowed slightly before glancing back down to his feet almost nervously. He was used to being in the spot light but here it unnerved him a little bit.
