Meraunda looked at him, smiled, then went back to keeping an eye on the council. She glanced every so often at Carter, sighing softly. He was really cute when he slept, though she would never tell him that. Though she had been doing things rather out of her element lately...

Carter slept for a little while before he woke up. He sighed softly and looked over to Meraunda "Maybe we should go after them" he suggested quietly. This seemed like way to long of a wait, it seemed like they wanted them to go after them.

Meraunda thought about that. "Are you up for that?" She asked worriedly, furrowing her eyebrows.

Carter nodded and glanced down to her "I'm ready" he said before standing up. He quietly pulled Meraunda up to her feet before glancing around the forest "Lets go" he said simply.

Meraunda gave a brisk nod and headed towards where the council was. "Keep low." She whispered, crouching down as they walked. Soon the council came into view.

Carter followed her quietly in a low crouch. He glanced over to Mer quietly before glancing up ahead, mentally preparing himself for what they were about to jump into.

Meraunda looked around for something to use. "Throw something at them...like..." She glanced around. "That! Throw that!" She pointed to a medium sized rock. "Dont hit them just...get it to the middle of them. If you can." She quickly added, remembering he hadn't had much training.

Carter looked at her quietly and nodded before picking up the rock. He bit his lip softly before throwing it with his mind, slightly over shooting it so it almost hit a few of them.

Meraunda bit her lip as the council turned to them, all of them snarling in unison. She pulled out a knife she had concealed in the waist-band of her pants, and waited for them.

Carter looked at them quietly getting ready for the attack although he was a little nervous. He looked at he council members and raised a stone, ready to throw it.

Meraunda looked at him and nodded, then jumped into the middle of the council members. Immediately she was engaged in hand-to-hand combat with one of them, who had changed into a samurai. She was knocked to the ground, and the samurai lunged at her, but she jumped up and kicked him in the face. "You may over there?" She called to Carter, just as she turned to punch another Council member.

Carter was much better with hand to hand stuff but keeping an eye on all of them was hard "Managing" he said simply as he ducked one hit and took out another behind him with a rock. He let out a soft breath as he was kicked in the ribs before hitting another person in the face.

Meraunda managed to get a few more punches in before the three she had been fighting began to retreat. She pushed some hair back behind her ear and went over to help Carter.

Carter kicked one of the guys in the ribs but got in in the face in the process. He shook his head softly before realizing Meraunda had jumped in starting to help him. He let out a soft breath and managed to dodge one of the hits.

Meraunda aimed a flew blows at one of them, sending him running after the others. She felt a little guilty, but if this had been what they wanted...she continued punching and kicking. Someone hit her in the jaw, hard, sending her staggering back a few steps. She stumbled and fell, but rolled and got back up. Her lip was bleeding, but she kept going. She used the handle of the knife and got him in the gut, and he keeled over. She pushed him and he toppled down.

Carter hit the last guy hard in the face but obviously he didn't have the percise hits that Mer had from like seven years of practice. He shook his head softly as he looked to the last one who Mer had hit to the ground.

Meraunda turned to him and wiped the blood from her lip on the back of her hand. "That went well..." She managed a small laugh. "Come on, let's head back. The suns going to be up soon."

Carter let out a soft breath and nodding, gently taking her hand he started back. He glanced down to Meraunda quietly "Your very good" he said softly "You'll have to give me some lessons" he said with a grin.

"Thanks. We can definitely arrange that." She laughed and nudged him playfully with her shoulder. "Wanna watch the sunrise?" She asked him with a small smile.

Carter smiled and looked down to her quietly "I'd like that" he said softly as he looked around the forest, still a little nervous.

"Relax, they went back to the lodge." She smiled and headed over to the pasture, which had horses and cows in it. She let go of his hand and sat on top of the fence, motioning for him to do the same. "Come on, it's starting!" The sky began turning a pale blue and a small glow was starting to rise in the horizon.

Carter looked at her for a moment before climbing up onto the fence, sitting beside her. He glanced over to her for a moment before looking over to the rising sun. He smiled softly as the sky started to light up, watching how the light changed the scene infront of him.

Meraunda looked nervously over at him, and laid her hand on top of his. She sighed happily as the sky changed and lit up in front of them. "Its beautiful isn't it?"

Carter glanced down to their hands before up to her with a small smile. He thought for a moment before giving her a warm smile "Your beautiful" he said simply before leaning over, chickening out he gently kissed her cheek. If she didn't like him, he didn't want to scare her off, besides... they had to stick together.

Meraunda blushed and smiled shyly at him. "Thank you." She murmured, looking up into his eyes. She took a deep breath and kissed him, full on the lips.
