I trampled after him, all the while looking back at where the noises came from.

Back at the clearing....

The wolves growled, they were getting highly impatient. "Well COME ON THEN! We can't let her get away..." He leapt out of the clearing, instantly putting his nose to the ground and smelling her trail. He grimaced. "It's here. I've got her." He looked at the younger wolf and her mother and father. "Here, seek her out. I've also got some more scents here, I'll take these."

"Yes." Athena's mother bowed her head. "Shove it." Athena knew that saying. It meant to shove your nose down and sniff them out. Athena gently laid her nose in the ferns. "Slightly north. Ni- ehem. Another werewolf was here." Her mother gave her the Good Girl eyes. Athena bent her head to the sky and howled loud so racheal could hear. Or Nic. With a burst of energy she ran, the scent getting stronger each leap.

I jumped, the howl making every hair on my body stand on end. "Oh god..." I knew it wasn't good.

Lagging behind I made sure my parents were up front. But then she knew Nic had never seen her change or anything. Now wanting to take the glory she rushed through the trees. They wissed by like arrows. Soon, she came open the smell, sight, of the humans. She smiled and growled. Howling again, she made sure it was clear that she made the howl before.

I turned around, the howl was so much closer this time...I could feel my heart rate spiraling out of control, I thought I saw something in the bushes....was it one of them? I couldn't tell...

Athena took a step forward, then lept straight at them, ripping part of racheal sleeve off. Spitting it out she turned back. Seeing Nic her eyes softened. He was so nice. then a sudden thought sprung into mind. Maybe he liked Racheal. Not like, but LIKE LIKE. Growling she leapt in again, ripping off the other sleeve in rage.

I fell to the floor, landing on my back, letting a yell of pain escape my lips as I landed on a sharp tree root. I winced as the animal tore off the sleeves of my shirt. "What do you want with me?!" I yelled at it.

Athena disguised her voice to be way deeper than it was, with a slight accent. "You half-breed idiot!" she snarled. Her mother and father also emerged. Athena looked at Nic. "Don't try transforming. There are three of us and one of you!" Athena smirked. Racheal would soon find the truth about Nic.

"What on earth are you talking about?!" I exclaimed, in shock that this animal actually answered my questions. I turned to Nic. "What the...."

Athena laughed wildly. "YOU missy, are a half-breed. A mother a wolf or human, the father a wolf or human. They had you. Half-breeders are traitors to our kind." As she spoke her parents slowly circled Nic away from Racheal. Leaping forward Athena slowed and bit Racheal's arm, leaving the chunk of flesh be though. taking her grip off she smiled.

I listened to her words, gaping. "N-no...My mother died in a car accident and my father went off to fight in Afghanistan..." I trailed off, shaking my head violently. Pain ripped through my arm as the animal clamped its fangs down, it's canines digging into my flesh. I was almost relieved when it let go, but the wound stung horribly, and tears of pain welled in my eyes.

"And who told you that STORY?" Athena laughed. "No, your traitor parents were devored. The held you so dearly in their arms. Somehow you escaped death." Athena spat. Now she rushed forward and ripped the chunk of flesh halfway off. "Your justice will come."

I screamed in pain as I watched the chunk of flesh hang off my skin, it started to bleed furiously. "Please....I have no idea why you think I should die, but I swear to you I know nothing of this!"

"YOUR A DISGRACE!" she barked in her ear. She pushed Racheal to the ground with her paw on her chest. "And don't expect I'll let you die quickly." she snarled in Racheal's ear.

I finched, the tears starting to roll down my face. "P-please...." I squeaked, my voice cracking and breaking.

Athena sighed. "What, you pathetic half-breed. Would you rather die fast or something?" Athena said rather boredly. She unsheated her claws and dug them slowly into the girl's chest. "Tell me what you want." Athena whispered in her ear.

I gritted my teeth, determined not to scream again. "Please!" I tried to kick the animal in the stomach, anywhere I could reach. "Maybe I am a halfbreed or whatever, but why do you want to kill me!?"

"Like I told you once before, disgrace." As racheal shoved her shoe into Athena's belly, she couldn't take her anymore. She ripped off the hanging flesh. "STOP THAT UNLESS YOU WANT IT TO HAPPEN MORE!" Athena barked.

In an instant I could feel my temper bubbling. Not angry, mad. I yelled as the flesh was torn from my arm, but I couldn't feel it. Not over the madness. I suddenly felt incredibly powerful, feeling my muscles bunch up. In one swift movement I shoved the animal off me, leaping to my feet and growling.

"Finally! It was starting to get boring." Athena smirked. "Just know that you're way weaker because you're half HUMAN." she mocked the word. She laughed and smiled. Her eyes had that bring-it-on look to them. Athena could feel her blood bubbling. This was going to be fun.

I looked at my wound, bunching my fists and bearing my teeth. "Shut up, you mutt. If you so much as breathe a word about my parents..."

Athena had the urge to push Racheal. "You know, I heard your dad was a great guy. He worked hard to protect his family. To bad he betray every friend and wolf he knew." Athena smirked.

My reaction was a little delayed, but I rolled out of the way, landing softly in some bushes. Seeing this as an opportunity, I pulled myself up into a tree. "When are you going to understand that I don't have to be your enemy?!" I yelled down. "I'm one of you! I'm like you!"
